SAI's resource and Lending library provides a variety of printed and video
information on substance abuse prevention and related subjects.

Dear ORN Consumer and Friend of SAI:

We regret to inform you that SAI will no longer be funded as an ORN affiliate to serve Greater Cleveland.
In the past ORN was funded through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and the Ohio Department of
Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS).  I have been informed that ODE has decided to contract
with a company out of state to provide the services which the ORN affiliates once provided in Ohio and
ODADAS has decided only to fund services provided through affiliates in Athens , Cincinnati , Columbus ,
Dayton , and Toledo (and those at a reduced level).  What this means for us and for you is that (1) we will
no longer be providing any training workshops in our area and (2) we will not be able to dedicate staff time
to serve you with videos and materials in our resource room.  We regret this decision, but due to funding
we must require our staff to spend their time on our Drug Free Communities and Coalition Mentoring
projects.

If you still need to pick up printed materials from our resource room, we do have some materials available
on a limited, first-come-first-served basis but call before you come.
We will continue to have the videos available for loan.  However, we can not spend much staff time
helping you with videos.  Beginning October 1, 2007 we will require a cash deposit for all videos taken out
and will be much stricter concerning the timely return of the videos.  Again, call the office to be sure
someone is in before you come to pick up videos.

We have appreciated the years of serving you as the OPERC/ORN affiliate for this region and will
continue to promote prevention through our Drug Free Communities and Coalition Mentoring grants.  Our
mission remains – “to provide alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention programs and services to
promote drug-free communities in Northeast Ohio .”

Sincerely,
Rev. Richard McCain
